Home maintenance can be overwhelming when there are so many things with which to keep up, especially with a brand new recently constructed home. So we recommend a few things with which to start:

  • set up regular pest control service

  • change out your air filters shortly after closing as the filters can get full between the construction cleaning process and the activity of moving in

  • register any and all appliances and HVAC equipment for their respective manufacturer warranties

  • read through your New Homeowner Maintenance & Care Guide provided to you by M-Homebuilders at your closing

At closings with M-Homebuilders, Inc., we provide our homebuyers with a New Homeowner Maintenance & Care Guide. We encourage our clients to read through this binder as there are many useful pages and information to help with everything from the regular care and maintenance of a new home to an easy reference sheet listing all the model numbers and serial numbers for appliances and HVAC equipment so registration of those items is simpler.

The National Association of Homebuilders also publishes a book, “Your New Home and How To Take Care Of It,” to help new homeowners take care of their new homes, providing homebuyers with tips on maintenance to help keep their new home performing at its peak.
